I just got wrangled into watching a movie

by which I mean peeps were already watching it when I showed up. And by ‘movie’, I mean Aliens. Now keep in mind I’ve been avvoiding watching this movie since I was like twelve, when my brother reeeeeeeeally wanted to watch it and I ended up ducking in and out of the hallway since it was too gross to watch and too unsettling to ignore. But tonight, after I extracted a promise that they’d warn me when an alien was about to do anything at all, I… watched the entire thing. For the most part. I love me some gritty sci-fi, even if I have to periodically shove my face into someone’s neck like a complete dork suave motherfucker. Besides which, Giger’s designs are fucking awesome and for the most part the movie is really well put-together. The best part, though, was realizing that Ripley is pretty much the best protagonist ever and will definitely keep you alive if you have even a shred of self-preservation to work with.

This seems to line up with my intense love for stonefaced badasses, even though Ripley is not particularly roughed-up in the course of asskicking. unlike Bulcsu who never washes his goddamn face, the weirdo What I’m trying to say is that I have a new love, and possibly some sort of fetish.
